What makes people decide to have counselling?
There are many reasons that individuals, couples, children and groups may decide that they wish to attend counselling. It can be extremely helpful to discuss your issues with a person who is removed from your circle of friends and family. We can sometimes feel that we don’t wish to burden our relatives and friends with our issues and it becomes easier to speak to a counsellor without fear of judgement. Not everyone who attends counselling is experiencing a crisis and sometimes it could be that you just feel there are issues that have not been dealt with from the past that you wish to understand more clearly.
